Everyone is welcome to the farewell service on Thursday 28 April at 12 noon in Strandvik Church, right next to their house where Hein was so happy to have Grete. After the service in the church, Hein will be transferred and cremated in Bergen
Meanwhile the guests will meet in the Grendahuset in Strandvik to chat, sing, drink and share memories together.

Small boat, big dream

Many of you know about the trip Hein made with his son Koen in Canada. Here you find the link to a nice overview from building the boat and the dream journey itself. It’s a beautiful story, from Hein’s perspective, with a link to a video where you can hear Hein’s voice.

Livestream

For friends who can’t be at the ceremony in Norway, there is a gathering in the Netherlands on Saturday 30 April from 10.30 until 13.00 ‘o clock to share memories in an informal setting. For Grete, family and friends in Norway there is a possibility to join if they wish through the livestream. The livestream wil be recorded and therefore there’s also the possibility to look back.

Photos were taken of this gathering, music memories were shared and photo books were also lent to me. I will post it on this site as soon as I have the opportunity. Sorry this is taking so long. But it will come and I will message you when these additions are on it

Memories en condolances

You know Hein and carry a wealth of fond memories and experiences with you. Our shared memories of Hein is what remains. We would really appreciate it if you would like to write a personal message, a beautiful memory, a nice anecdote or a final greeting for Grete, Koen, Jente and other loved ones.

The flag of the Vlieter

At the top of this page as well as here, you can see the flag of De Vlieter. The ship that belonged to Hein when he was still skippering in the Netherlands. The flag is half-mast, the wind blows towards Norway and thus gives the love of De Vlieter with the wind and waves Hein goodbey. The flag is carried by the mast, which is still by the hand of Hein, made in September 1991.
